My build and VLAN questions

hi

I have slowly pieced together some items for my build

128gb Samsung SSD (overkill i know)
Intel S1200KPR Motherboard
Intel i3-2100 CPU
Kingston 4gb DDR-3 ecc
Additional dual port NIC

Hoping this config will suit a fibre 100/40 connection with all the bells and whistles turned on

now i know the home version is limited to protecting 50 ips, but is this on one subnet only, or could i have multiple IPs / Subnets / DMZ so long as the Ip count isnt above 50??

thanks

  • Hi, FYI, most of the i3/i5/i7 CPUs don't support ECC RAM. If the motherboard recognizes the RAM, it'll work in non-ECC mode.

Barry I could not agree with you! It seems that most of the i3 support ECC ram.
I've two NAS systems with i3 and server boards running with ECC ram.
