Hi all-
I've been running my ASG (or UTM, whatever it is) on an old dinosaur that i picked up from a trash pile at work. It actually performs perfectly, but it's large, noisy and draws much more power than I need.
I've setup some HTPC options using the Intel NUCs and i have been very impressed with them. They also draw a very small amount of power, which excites me. They seem to have the perfect hardware.... until you realize there is only one port.
I have looked a lot to see if people have been successful running the hardware based UTM (not virtualized) on a NUC using either the Thunderbolt to ethernet adapter or the USB 3 to ethernet. All of the posts seem to be around the early time of when that was available and it seemed spotty at best.
Does anyone have any experience running their external line through thunderbolt or usb3? I have 50/10Mbps from my ISP, so my external line does not need gigabit speed, and i would like to avoid doing a VLAN if possible.
Any help appreciated.
