UTM9.2 on Intel C2558 CPU

Hi,

My old Sophos box died recently, so I took the opportunity to upgrade the old 6380 cpu to a Rangely C2558 (supermicro flavor), but having some issues which I'm not sure if they are software or hardware compatibility related. I had to use the latest 9.2 iso to perform the install to recognize the hardware (quad Intel GbE i354) and seems to work considering I can access webadmin on the default IP x.x.2.100. 

However, I can't get the external/internal LAN's to ping. Initially, I restored the config from the old box, but that utilized bridging and I thought that might be the issue. 

Even after a FACTORY RESET (REINSTALL) with one NIC assigned to the external LAN with a static ip, I'm unable to ping. Any any rules and gateway visible settings have been configured in the firewall, but still nothing.

I've tried using DHCP on the external NIC, but that fails to obtain an IP also.

NIC LED's work as and when the interfaces are enabled, but no ping. Webadmin NIC is fine (also pingable), but I can't get any of the other three NIC's to play ball!

Any thoughts?

    what modules are running? did you check their logs?

    I assume you mean services enabled on the UTM?

    From the dashboard, it indicates the following are active:

    • Firewall
    • Web Filtering
    • Antivirus
    • AntiSpyware

    I am running that hardware too, but in bridge mode that links all the nics. Other then pinging can you flow traffic through the box and through the modals? There is a setting to allow ping or disallow ping. Is that set as ping?

    That's good to know.  Initially it was setup as bridge, but only on two ports eth2 and eth3, the third was for webadmin eth0 and the fourth eth1 was spare.  I couldn't get the bridge interface to respond to ping regardless of ICMP settings, hence the reason for starting from scratch without bridging....still no luck.

    It does seem to be receiving packets, but I think this is on the webadmin port.  Initially, I had it all connected as the original box, but I couldn't establish a internet connection from the internal LAN...so started this thread!

    Did you have to change anything in the BIOS to make it work or installing linux NIC drivers?

    I install ISO with a USB drive to USB 2.0 port. This works for me to setup as bridge, it may work for non bridge mode  minus linking nics. I then install and when it asks for nic interface to use to admin I call out "eth1".  My Wan port is the lower left >eth0eth1
