UTM & Riverbed

Hi guys

I've got a UTM 120 & a RED at a branch office that I'm in the process of configuring and I want to put Riverbeds in with them.  I'm not sure where these should physically sit in the network.  Should it go INTERNET>UTM>RIVERBED or INTERNET>RIVERBED>UTM.

I understand from doing some reading on WAN Optimization and Firewalls that this can make a difference but that both ways can work depending on the products in question.

Does anyone have specific knowledge of using both Sophos UTM & Riverbed?

Cheers

Brad

  • Brad, what would you get out of a Riverbed that you can't do with the 120?  What is the purpose of the RED behind the 120?

    Cheers - Bob
