I cant seem to connect to my utm server

I installed the Sophos UTM Home with default configuration and I can't seem to connect to the server, connected straight to my laptop, in either of the two ports I have available on the sophos server. 

I can't ping to the server as well






Please keep in mind I'm a new comer in sophos so I might be doing silly mistakes.

    What IP address you used during installation ?

    Configure your laptop IP address manually with any address from that subnet.

    Thanks Vilic that worked fine. Now I got a weird issue with inbound traffic being dropped.

    I have a ATT uverse vdsl that is in dmz + mode (*fake bridge) with the sophos. The sophos succesfully has a static IP now and I can log into the att RG with the sophos utm in the middle.

    The only service enabled is firewall with the rule

    any -> any -> any from what I remember (*at work so I can't tell)


    DNS is 8.8.8.8 
    DHCP is disabled since I think the ATT RG has  DHCP enabled and I cant change that.

     
    The weird thing is that the sophos itself can download updates and connect to internet but when I try to enter google in the live firewall its shows googles ip -> my ip drop
