SOLVED***Up2Date Issues***need to rename up2date file before uploading in webadmin

I may be late to the show with this, but have not gotten auto-updates in WebAdmin since 9.201-23 and have been unable to manually install up2dates in WebAdmin as well.

As a last-ditch effort, I was able to get up to v9.203-03 by renaming the up2date file after I downloaded it to the desktop.

Rename u2d-sys-9.202028-203003.tgz.gpg to u2d-sys-9.203003.tgz.gpg and it will show up as an available update in WebAdmin and will actually install.  It seems ASG/UTM is expecting a certain file name to kick-off the update process and Sophos recent changes to the up2date file names hasn't made it into the up2date auisys.plx routine.

I searched the forums for a couple of days and never ran across anything about having to rename the up2date files before manually uploading through WebAdmin, so hopefully this helps those having issues.

BTW, with the renamed files, I went straight from 9.202033 to 9.203003 using the "u2d-sys-9.202028-203003" file.

  • I think you're better off using the "classic" trick of editing /etc/version that I repeated in the thread about going from 9.202 to 9.203.
