Small System for Sophos Home UTM

Hi

I want to build a device to handle my network at home. I like the features the home UTM has to offer and will have most of them turned on, learning and playing around, so i want the compute power to handle my connection with these on

Requirements - 
Small (ITX style PC, rack mountable or can mount on shelf in a rack)
Runs cool
Low power usage, aiming for about 30w maxish
Can handle a 100mb/s down / 40mbs up internet connection
Low cost to build


What i have so far
the installer burnt to a CD
an external usb cd drive
a dual port intel gigabit nic low profile


What i need
Case / PSU
CPU
RAM
Motherboard

What options have i got

    Yes, that setup should be enough!
    But that processor its not a low power, similar to that one and low power should be the core i3 2100T, and you said you want a low cost build I'm not sure if those components are low cost!!!

    Hi,

    I'm not certain on the idle power draw of Ivy/Sandy Bridge CPUs, but a Haswell i3 or i5 will idle under 30W, assuming an efficient PSU.

    We in Australia can pick one up for $345 AUD, it comes with 2GB ram so we add another 8GB (making 10gb total) the price then goes up by another $120 - total $465

    It also comes with HP warranty, next business day replacement and its server grade hardware.

    If you can afford it I would get this.

    I already have a couple of Gen8 MS for file and ESX

    I am happy to get a third if required, downside is they will take up more room int he rack but anyway would the lower end gen 8 handle my connetion with all the features on?

    If you add anti-virus, etc., you'd take more of a hit.

    I'd recommend an i3.
