restore backup to utm120 from utm9

I have been evaluating the product using the utm9 and have put a lot of time configuring everything.  I just ordered the utm120 with the assumption that I could restore the backup from the utm9 to the utm120.

Will this work? I hope so [:)]

    Welcome aboard.

    Configuration backups are not hardware dependent so as long as the number of network interfaces meets or exceeds the count in the backup, you can move configs around between hardware as required. 

    For reference, the UTM software is the same regardless of the appliance model, or software install on physical or virtual installations. UTM v9 is v9 regardless of whether it's running on a UTM120, 220, or on your own hardware. [:)]

    As the other poster said, the backups are portable; the only requirement is that you have at least as many interfaces on the destination machine as you actually configured on the source system.

    Note that after the restore, if the hardware platforms differ, you will be prompted to supply a license file --- so make sure you have that in hand before you move your configuration.

    Thanks everyone for the help!  The utm120 was installed last night and restoring the backup config was fairly straight forward.
