ata4: reset failed, giving up

I’m running the UTM Home Edition Software appliance v9.111 on a desktop and have been having a boot issue for a few months now.  At every boot I get the following error messages

2014:05:10-07:43:47 ****** kernel: [   10.896028] ata4: softreset failed (device not ready)
2014:05:10-07:43:47 ****** kernel: [   20.908028] ata4: softreset failed (device not ready)
2014:05:10-07:43:47 ****** kernel: [   31.480037] ata4: link is slow to respond, please be patient (ready=0)
2014:05:10-07:43:47 ****** kernel: [   55.952025] ata4: softreset failed (device not ready)
2014:05:10-07:43:47 ****** kernel: [   55.967491] ata4: limiting SATA link speed to 1.5 Gbps
2014:05:10-07:43:47 ****** kernel: [   61.168030] ata4: softreset failed (device not ready)
2014:05:10-07:43:47 ****** kernel: [   61.183595] ata4: reset failed, giving up

The boot process stops until I hit enter then it completed with no more problems.

I have seen similar errors on Linux platforms and apparently the solution is to re-compile the kernel with CONFIG_SATA_PMP=n but that’s not really a possible solution for the UTM.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated,

Jim
