asg 425 8.311 to ver 9

Hi Sophos/Astaro Guru's

I have ASG 425 running on ver 8.311, now I want to explore whats new about ver 9.X,my question now is, is it safe to upgrade my unit using ver 9 "Upgrade to UTM9" tab?.

I already secured my backup.

Any feedback is highly appreciated.

    which revision do you have?

    The 9.109-1 is a very stable version.
    And to your question, yes, it is safe. All updates were successfully.

    But, I would wait for the GA version of the 9.2. Sophos increases the performance substantially! They updated the IPS and the Web Protection.

    I'm a lot more skittish than GuyFawkes. [;)]  I agree that 9.109-1 is solid, and that you can safely use the Upgrade tab.  Do this on a weekend or at night so that you won't have issues with your users when the UTM is downloading and installing the 25 Up2Dates.

    I don't plan on moving any of my clients to 9.2 until 9.201 or later.  Probably not until late June.

    In any case, remember that the backup is only of the configuration, and that Reporting and logs are lost if you re-install and restore from backup.

    Yes, you are right.
    We have learned to be careful with new updates [;)]
    But in this case, I must recognize, that I am very optimistic, because Sophos has learned from the mistakes. So this was the longest BETA astaro/sophos have ever had.

    Our UTM are on 9.109-1 and without a reason, we will not update them to 9.2, before we do not have good feedbacks and of course, this is a GA. And a really good reason is the new OTP, that is a feaure, that many customers asked for.

    But in my Lab and Home, it is very amazing (performane boost) [:)]
