Home licence on ASG-220

Hi,

I've been using the free version at home for about 5 years but the PC has finally given up and died. I managed to purchase a secondhand ASG220 off ebay and have installed the latest 9.2 hardware image on the appliance but it says I can't use my home licence. I've seen the thread on how to use the home licence by deleting /etc/asg file but cannot log into the appliance using the admin account.

Can anyone let me know what the default root or appliance password is or link to where I can find it please?

There is no such thing like a 'default password' on a UTM.

You may boot from a linux live-cd, mount /dev/sda6 and then delete the $mountpoint/etc/asg file, umount and reboot.

another way is to install hardware image..login(which uses the 30 trial IIRC) and then setup your loginuser and root passwords..then hit is with an ssh client and delete the relevant file..

Simply use the "Recover access to your Sophos UTM in the event of password loss" procedure. This should work:

You don't have to do the CC stuff.
