Xen paravirtualisation installation

Hello, 

I have read that in recent version, xen paravirtualized mode seems to be supported by Sophos UTM and I have seen some thread talking about that.

I have made some tests installing Sophos UTM 9.x on a PC with hvm mode and then change de config file to re-start le vm in paravirtualized mode and it worked.

My question is, as I have a machine without hvm support, is there a method to do the installation from the beginning in paravirtualized mode ?

    How did you change the config file? I have tried the same but don't know enough about xen to make it work. I would like to get the UTM running again on an ATOM box - it has an intel NIC that is subject to a bug in 9.2 so I was hoping to see if installing it as a PV might  work

    To your question, I think that once you change it to a PV, you can use that guest to create a new template which can be used for future installations.

    The only thing you have to change to disable HVM is : comment the line "builder='hvm'"

    To answer your last line, I have tried that but it didn't work. The problem is that I don't have the same hardware plateform to generate the VM and I think that the install process automatically configures some hardware optimisation.

    I tried to generate a VM template on my Core2Duo PC and then use it on my xen environment (VIA Nano U2250) but VM never boot [:(]

    That's why I'm looking for a method to do all the setup in PV mode but with no result at the moment.
