UTM 120 reset, now asks for license

I've got a UTM 120 we were using under the base license. It suddenly reset to default factory settings. When logged in it looked like a setup screen, so I set a new admin password. Now it's asking for a license file.

Do I need a license file for the base configuration? If so, how would I go about getting one?

    Hi, dnewman, and welcome to the User BB!

    If your reseller hasn't yet supplied you with a license file, you can skip the license upload during the initial setup, and you will wind up with a 30-day trial license.

    Although the UTM is fairly straightforward to administer after it's been configured correctly, there are some choices that can create "traps" in the future.  If this is a business and you've never followed someone with substantial UTM configuration experience, even if you have strong experience with routers and firewalls,  then your organization might be better off to spend a little on the design/setup.  We wind up charging about twice as much to "fix" installations than we would have to have designed them ourselves in the beginning.

    Then again, if this is an existing installation and you have an unencrypted backup, you can restore the configuration by putting the backup in the root directory of a USB memory stick and booting the UTM with the stick inserted.
