UTM access to internet, but not act as fwall

Hi - i'm new to the UTM stuff and am migrating from Enterprise Console.

I am gradually setting up my UTM in a test config ( im sure I will be posting about issues another day [:)] ) but need it to access the internet - without it being a firewall.

So, internal is on my lan (1.0) and I have a desktop attached to each of the WAN (100.0) and DMZ (200.0) ports for testing and setup.

However, due to the expiry of my Ent Console license I need to be able to start using the AV install and endpoint management now - before ive finished the dmz, vpn setups.

Can the UTM access the internet through the LAN and start managing the endpoints - just like it would if it was already acting as the company firewall ?

or does all the av, endpoint and red management have to be through the WAN port ?
