Replace ASG, hardware ?'s

My current box is an older 2.4 GHz Athlon 64, 3Gb RAM, with 5 NIC's (4 Intel's), running v9.x.  IPS is disabled, it's mainly used for web filtering.  Only 3 NIC's (only Intel) in use.  

2 - Intel Pro 10/100/1000 GT Desktop PCI Network Adapter
1 - Intel PRO 1000 PCI-e x4 PT Dual port server Network Adapter

I have 2 internal networks, each connected to one of the Intel PCI cards, the PCI/e is connected to the external connection.

In the past 10 days or so, I've had several instances where traffic from one network quits flowing through one of the PCI NIC's.  There has been an increase in web traffic usage, including video streaming in the past 6 weeks or so.

That being said, I don't know if my issues are due to CPU performance and/or limits of the PCI bus.  I do have a new Dell Optiplex 7010, that I could use for testing.  I'd need to add 4 additional NIC's, so I can easily restore my configuration file.

Intel Core i3-3240 Processor (Dual Core,3.40GHz)
4Gb RAM
1 full height PCIe x16
1 full height PCIe x16 (wired x 4)
1 full height PCIe x1
1 full height PCI

Should I buy 2 of these Pro/1000's for testing?  Or something else?

    No question that more and faster is better [;)], but maybe there's been an equipment change on the ISP's side.  Try another experiment: Edit the interface definition for External, and, in the 'Advanced' section, set the MTU to 1350.  If that works, check with your ISP to help find the largest setting that works. If this doesn't work, set the MTU back to its original value.

    Near the bottom of the 'Advanced' tab in 'Web Filtering', confirm that you have selected 'Bypass content scanning for streaming content'.
