Supermicro S2000 series Atom with Marvel Alaskan nics

I am looking into this server, anyone test it out yet with a Sophos UTM? Wondering how Sophos UTM likes the Marvel Alaskan nics?

    I'm not really surprised you're getting 28mbps, as my ancient Atom gets around 17mbps.

    re the CPU usage: can you run 'top' during a single SpeedTest, and see how much CPU a single Snort thread is using?

    The CPU % numbers you're seeing maybe across all cores, and for single-stream, it's best to look at one Snort process.

    If you have a DMZ or 2nd LAN, you could test with iperf like I did.

    I would assume that Comcast is limiting my down speed since I have 25/5. So 28 Mbps is the best I would think I will get unless I up my speed. 

    There really is no way to test the speed on this box unless I got the Comcast  50Mbps Blast or the Extreme 105 Mbps. As for my 8  and 12 consecutive downloading ISO and .IMG files  at  CPU 8% and 12% does that correlate to more an Atom or more to Core 2 Duo or lowest i3? Can we get any sense of performance with those  figures?
