UTM 9 running NUT

It's my understanding that UTM 9 is running the NUT Package, however, I'm having some trouble finding the nut.conf configuration file. I run NUT on my Linux Server and under /etc/nut/ exists the nut.conf file which contains MODE=netserver, such that the Linux Server will allow NUT Clients to connect.

On UTM 9, under /etc/ups/ all I see are ups.conf, upsd.conf, upsd.users and upsmon.conf. I also did a find for nut.conf, and that yielded zero results.

Am I missing something, or is it not exposing the NUT Package?

The goal here is that until NUT is officially supported in the GUI, I'd like to setup the UTM as a NUT Server. That way I can use the ESXi USB Passthrough to directly connect my UPS to the UTM, and the other VM's being NUT Clients can point to the UTM for shutdown purposes. My understanding is that HA UTM's already send a heartbeat signal, so that shouldn't be necessary.

    The best way to do what you want is: 

    Install the vsphere Managment Assistant (vma or vima)

    Connect all Esxi Server to vma system through vhere managment shell.

    Install Network USV software

    When USV is sending low battery error, vma starts to stop every esxi host and with it every virtuell machine. Make Sure ESXI host with vma is the last one.

    Thanks for the advice maygyver.

    I looked into that approach and I like it, however, it is much more effort than using NUT. It also doesn't conform to the requirement I have (and didn't mention) that I need my NAS to point to a NUT Server.

    With that being said, my other VM's aside as I'll continue to use a NUT Server with those on a separate UPS, given I use USB Passthrough to UTM Master so it can directly be connected to a UPS, what happens when it switches to UTM Slave? It seems like the UTM Slave will need its own UPS for completely alike VM's.

    I'm beginning to think this may get a bit excessive in the unlikely event of a power failure.
