Problem with USB NIC

I am trying to set up a UTM on a system that only has one built in NIC. The system installs fine and works until I enable the USB NIC. The system identifies the USB device just fine, but as soon as I enable it, the system locks up hard. 

I am running 9.106-17 software and a Cisco-Linksys USB-300M adapter. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi, I wasn't expecting you to mod the drivers, but if you find that there is a newer driver (on another Linux distro) that works, then Sophos could probably put that in by the next beta, if not sooner.
