Network Issues

I am unable to connect to any of my computers. I have a server on 192.168.1.9. I also cannot access port 81 for one of my applications.

Windows troubleshooter says  the device is online, but is not responding to connection attempts.

I don't know whats going on.

K.I.S.S....let's try the simple fix first..this may not even be utm related.    If that didn't work then more information would be requested.

  • I recently installed sophos utm home edition. This ip is 192.168.1.1.  The cable modem for internet plugs to Nic 1 and Nic 2 plugs into my network switch.

I have a netgear wndr4500 router. I put this router in access point mode. The wireless clients can connect to the internet successfully.

It's a fresh install of utm . I have not modified any settings yet.

So when I try to access a server on 192.168.1.9 , it cannot connect.
  • Is your wireless access point connected to the inside interface of the UTM? We need a little better picture of what your network looks like. Please provide IPs for all interfaces.
  • jc did you disable the firewall on .9?
