Astaro 11/120 appliance update

Hi,

I am having problem updating software for my astaro 110/120 appliance, it is displaying that my firmware is up2date even I never updated it, it is still on version 7.104.
I tried manual update and downloaded from ftp the update file but failed to update.

What can I do?

    Hello. Version 7 is end of life.

    Depending on your appliance model revision, you may re-image with v9 or v8, that'd be much faster than applying all iüdates in-between. Just backup your system configuration and download the new ISO and install from USB-CD-ROM or ASI-Stick.

    Can the ASG 110/120 run the latest v9?

    If you have the 1GB version of the 120, you can run 8.3xx.  If you have the 512MB version, you can't run any supported version.  Don't run a version higher than 9.106-17 yet.

    I´ve got the same question... Is there a Guide, that tells me what software I can or should not install i.e. on my ASG 120?!

    @ BAlfson: So you would not recommend to install any v9 to ASG 120? Can you tell me why? I´ve got the 1GB version. And what do you mean with:

    Don't run a version higher than 9.106-17 yet.

    Hi Sebastion,

    I'm not aware of a specific document outlining which hardware is compatible with which versions but it has to do with the RAM requirements of the software.

    v7.x (no longer supported) required a minimum of 512MB
    v8.x (still supported) required a minimum of 1GB
    v9.x (current version) requires a minimum of 2GB.

    So if you have an older rev1 or rev2 appliance (512MB RAM) they will not run any supported Astaro/Sophos UTM version. rev3 appliances (1GB RAM) will run v8.x but not v9.x. rev4 & rev5 appliances have 2GB and will run v9.x.

    Bob's note about 9.106-17 has to do with some stability issues in newer releases, which are being addressed.

    William, I like 9.109-1 which fixed issues in 9.108 which fixed issues in 9.107.

    Sebastian, how many users do you have and what subscriptions?  How many valid blocks by Intrusion Prevention have you had in the last month?  Do you use Reporting other than checking the Executive Reports occasionally?  In addition to anti-virus on the ASG, do all PCs, laptops and servers have anti-virus?
