Installer does not find disk and 2nd network card

I am trying to install latest version on Dell 430 laptop.  It has an internal network card that is detected by the 2nd one is not which is in the PCMCIA slot.  Secondly i have compact flash based IDE HDD that is also not detected.

Note both FreeBSD 9.x and untangle are able to detect both items.  I do have the zip file from the installer that i have attached.

    I would not use a laptop for this system -- NICs and other peripherals may not detect correctly (as you've found).

    Hi, Wahmed, and welcome to  the User BB!

    The only way I've been able to configure on a laptop is inside a VM.  If you want to dedicate this old laptop to UTM9, this might be an opportunity to do a bare-metal install of ESXi on it.

    Whenever you install on something other than Sophos hardware, be sure to use the software appliance ISO.

    Hi, afaict, the PCMCIA controller is not being detected.

    I used to use a PCI->PCMCIA adapter in Astaro 6.x with a WiFi NIC, but Astaro stopped supporting internal WiFi after that; perhaps they removed the PCMCIA drivers.

    Do you know what chip the PCMCIA controller and the NIC use? 
    'lspci' would tell you on Linux (untangle), but I'm not sure about BSD.

    Thanks for all who replied.  

    I'll look at the ESXi option.  Did not even now that a free hypervisor existed from VMWare.  And yes i am using the "software" asg-9.103-5.1.iso. The laptop is dedicated as a firewall/router.

    The PCMCIA card is SMC and appears as dc0 under FBSD 9.x.  

    One thing that i want to correct is that the latop is a Dell 420 with a PATA interface and probably that is why the HDD is not being detected.

    The UTM only supports one Hard Drive... are you trying to use 2?
