Can I restore HW config on SW install?

I have an ASG320 running the latest 8.3x version.  Unfortunately, I need to upgrade the hardware it in order to run v9.x  

We're having an issue with VOIP and support thinks that a new QoS feature in v9 will resolve the problem.

Could I install ASG software version 9 on a test computer, restore the configuration from my ASG320, and use an evaluation license to test that hypothesis?  I'd like to do a proof of concept and verify that v9 will resolve my problem.

Would I also need 8 NIC's in the box, even though I'm only using 2.  I could virtualize the configuration on ESXi and add 6 phantom NIC's.

    Barry's right, your reseller should be able to provide an eval license.

    krbc, if you're only using eth0 and eth1, you will only need two in the new box.  If you are using eth0 and eth7, you will need 8 NICs.  Etc.

    I take it you have VoIP and IPsec tunnels to branches.  Yes, the ability to 'Keep classification after encapsulation' should allow you to prioritize this traffic.

    Before expending time and money, I would check the Intrusion Prevention log to be sure that you don't have Anti-DoS Flooding related to your issue.  Maybe a simple Exception will solve your problems.
