Using an EnGenius EAP9550 AP

Hi,

I've read that the EnGenius EAP9550 AP is the same hardware has the Sophos AP 30, is it possible to use this AP's with the same firmware and functionality has the Sophos AP 30?

    Hi Crisman,

    I'm one of the folks involved in that discussion and the answer is currently no. The design & specs of the AP30 are similar to the EAP9550 (and several other models) however the firmware is in no way compatible. One person here has actually tried and bricked their 9550 in the process.

    Thanks for your reply, It's disappointing because the EAP9550 seems to be hardware similar and cost less than half the price of Sophos AP 30.
