Initial Setup

I have a simple setup in that I am using the UTM only for Wireless Access with APpoints connected on our internal network to allow wifi access on two SSIDs Internal & Guests.

The guests network I have configured the UTM with a DHCP service so it will assign an IP address.

For internal clients I have setup the DHCP relay to forward to our internal DHCP server.

On the internal DHCP server I have given the AP points a fixed IP address but when I connect them to the internal network they do not connect to the UTM unless I set up an internal DHCP server on the UTM. When I have created an internal DHCP on the UTM the AP points connect & I can get access to the wifi connections. But I do not want the UTM to have an internal DHCP that is what the internal server is doing.

The network setup is very simple in that we have our servers connecting to a switch & all outbound traffic goes via our Watchguard firewall.

I do not want to use the UTM for the firewall but just for the wifi only.

Any help appreciated, thanks.

From the UTM if I ping the AP10 I get a response.

    The Reservation Only mode works perfectly. The AP points can pick up an internal IP address & the UTM DHCP service does not handle requests for any internal desktops/laptops these continue to receive an IP address from the server.

    I have not looked at setting up an internal SSID yet but will do next. Thanks for all the replies.
