I am running Astaro 8.003 on an old Dell desktop, and am having conflicting problems accessing WebAdmin.
I can access the Astaro WebAdmin from a computer running Windows XP, but for some reason, I cannot access the same Astaro from a different computer running Windows Vista. Both the XP machine and the Vista machine are set to automatically obtain an IP address, but for some reason, the Vista machine can't access the Astaro.
In both cases, I am using the same network cable. I have tried turning off the firewall program in Vista, but this does not help. I have unplugged the network cable, disabled the network card, and restarted, but to no avail. The only clue is that when I plug the cable into the Vista machine, the machine does not recognise that it is connected and still displays the message "Network Cable Uplugged" even though it is plugged in.
The only way that the Vista machine can access Astaro WebAdmin is when connected to the Astaro with a crossover cable, but this does not explain why the WinXP machine can access WebAdmin with a normal network cable, while the Vista machine requires the crossover.
Does anyone have an idea as to what settings on the Vista machine are causing this problem? I need to be able to access the Astaro using the Vista machine.
