Today the next version of Sophos UTM Manager is available as a soft-release. SUM 4.1 acts as a platform for a program targeted at Managed Service Providers (MSP's) and will include a system of licensing and billing on a per-user-per-month basis for MSP's to integrate into their monthly offerings. Due to the amount of man-hours required across many departments at Sophos to bring this program to market, no other features are included in SUM 4.1, but we plan for shiny new things in SUM 4.2 later this year.
For this soft release, the MSP section itself is not yet available, and will launch as part of the GA release on June 17th when the rest of the official materials and program mechanics go live. If you offer managed services (or are looking to start) and are interested in signing up as an MSP, you should contact your sales representative at Sophos.
For now, you can poke around the 4.1 release (for the first time if you haven't ever seen Sophos UTM Manager). This version acts as a platform from upon which we can build more offerings later, fixes some bugs, and introduces the monthly licensing and billing system designed for MSP’s. Up2Date from SUM 4.000 is not yet possible, however as always you can restore your backup file into 4.1
As a note, entry to the MSP program requires the signing of a dedicated MSP agreement with different commitments and requirements from a normal partner agreement. Once the program launches, your sales contact can provide you with all the information around that.
