Hardware Questions - SSD Drive, RAM

Does Sophos UTM install properly on and work properly on SSD hard drives?

What has been your Sophos UTM experience with SSD hard drives.

How much RAM is too much (A Waste of Money)?  Example:  Install 8 GB of RAM instead of installing 4 GB of RAM?  The hardware that I am considering is "overkill".  The hardware will support multiple times (at least 10X) the peak bandwidth that is needed.

Does Sophos UTM support ECC RAM?

    Allo Lads,

    To Thekid7, There are definite advantages to using the proper SSD. Core i3 is a great cpu for this. 8GB of ram in dual channel i.e. 2x 4GB is very nice.

    Check my posts in the unofficial HCL. I currently handle multiple personal UTMs for family utilizing Kingston SSDs and core i3's. Most of them have been running now without issue for over 3 years.

    SSD's boot fast and you can offload the HTTP Proxy content filters to them with little degradation to offload them from ram. If you buy the right one i.e. Kingston industrial, they are not as fragile as some people think.

    Please post a full part list of what you are considering and I will look it over.
