Hardware Questions - SSD Drive, RAM

Does Sophos UTM install properly on and work properly on SSD hard drives?

What has been your Sophos UTM experience with SSD hard drives.

How much RAM is too much (A Waste of Money)?  Example:  Install 8 GB of RAM instead of installing 4 GB of RAM?  The hardware that I am considering is "overkill".  The hardware will support multiple times (at least 10X) the peak bandwidth that is needed.

Does Sophos UTM support ECC RAM?

ECC support is a function of the motherboard and cpu not the software itself...4 gigs is the absolute minimum i would build.  How many users is lots?  Also specifically which hardware?  using the wrong hardware will result in poor performance irregardless of if there is 1 gig or 100 gigs of ram.  I do agree with Barry ssd's are unneeded for a security appliance.

There would be very low usage.  Maximum of 5 PC's with maybe some Non-HD Video streaming on a couple of the PC's.  I currently only have an ISP bandwidth of 25 Mbps which is upgradable.

I am actually thinking about taking a "gamble" and buying hardware which is not listed in the unofficial Sophos UTM Thread.  The proposed UTM hardware would have a SuperMicro Server Motherboard, two (2) on-board Intel NIC's, 8 GB of ECC RAM and a third generation Intel Core i3 CPU.  I realize that the Dual Core Atom SuperMicro Motherboard which is listed many times in this Forum would have enough power, but I always want more power than I need.

The SSD that I am considering is listed as an Enterprise Grade SSD on NewEgg.  The price seems reasonable.  However, it is apparently a very new product which currently does not have any user feedback.
