Keyboard Not Recognized During Installation

Hi All,

I'm in the process of upgrading my Dell GX260 running ASG 9 to a Dell 760.  The GX260 was near the max for processor and ram usage, so I figured the dual core 760 with 4GB of ram would help.  During installation I can boot into the install cd and can choose the boot option, but once the screen comes up that says "start" I am not able to use the keyboard.  The 760 doesn't have any ps/2 ports, so I attempted using several different usb keyboard, and one ps/2 keyboard with a ps/2 to usb adapter.  None of these worked.  I'm a little shocked by this and wanted to see if there was something simple I am missing?    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi, 

    1. do you have Legacy USB turned ON in the BIOS?
    This or some other BIOS option is most likely the solution.

    2. try booting another OS from a USB stick (DOS or Linux, e.g. Ultimate Boot CD or RIP Linux) and see if the kb works

    3. if the kb worked with #2, and still doesn't work with ASG9, you could try the 9.1 Beta.

    I know that, had the same issue before on several mainboards. Among the company's equipment are several network-managed KVM switches with PS2 connectors and newer mainboards do not have PS2 connectors anymore.

    When changing the bios options does not help and a beta is not an option for you:
    While testing some adapters and stuff I came upon a PS2-USB adapter which works on every mainboard I have. Espicially Intel serverboards do not like most of the PS2 to USB converters.
