Nic not recognized

Have an HP 331T 4 port (Broadcom BCM5719) that is recognized with ver. 9 on older MSI boards 785GM/Phenom and 765GM/I5 but on new MSI Z77/I5..Nope or on an Asus Z77/I7..Nope.
Any ideas on board settings that might let UTM 9 see it.....or any way to add once installed with a single nic.

Hi,

Maybe the Z77 chipsets don't support something the NIC needs, such as PCI-PCI bridging?

Try 'lspci' from the console and see if the NIC is listed.
If not, try booting another Linux distribution from CD or USB and see if it shows up.

Nope..doesnt show..tried Fedora 18 and no show either.
Anyone using any 4 port nics on Z77 boards?

You may try the 9.1 Beta which has a recent Kernel.

I get a 550 failed to change directory with this link...

Try this link: http://download.astaro.com/UTM/v9/beta/asg-9.091-5.1.iso

Note that 9.091 is a beta release -- other things may be broken in it, etc.... but you can at least see if the new kernel detects your board. If it doesn't, you may need to find another system or card.

Hi,

Are you putting the NIC in an x4 or larger PCIe slot?
Check the motherboard docs; sometimes the slots appear larger than they really are.

Yes Barry in a 3.0x16 slot. With the 9.091 release I was able to get the card recognized in the second x16 slot.

The first x16 slot did not see.

The second x16 it saw on the install screen but didnt show up with lspci

The second install attempt on the second x16 slot it saw them and then showed w/ lspci

So not sure how stable it will be..but going to try and see what happens.
