Help! Can't apply my V9 license

So, I've downloaded the free UTM Home V9, and got my license file via email. I've backed up my ASG V7 configuration, installed V9 clean.
Everything installed just fine. When I access the Web Admin page, I'm told that my license has expired and I need to upload a new one. I upload the license I was given and I get:

Cannot use a classic V7 license on the ASG V8. A license according to the new licensing model is required.

Confused. Is the license I received not a V9 license? Where would I get a "license according to the new licensing model"?

    You need to login to my.astaro.com, upgrade your license and download it.  Your old 2010 license may not yet have expired, but it definitely won't work.

    Thanks - I finally figured out that I needed to delete the old one before I could create a new "home" license. I saw an option to create a new license but was being asked for an activation key - very confusing.
