What can I do with old Astaro hardware?

Hi Group,

I have a newer model ASG110/120 firewall no longer in use as we have upgraded to the 200 series with redundancy.

What can I do with this newer 120 assuming I don't want to sell it?  Any resources for hacking a flavor of linux on it?  Boot from usb?  Anything?

Looking forward to hearing some answers.

Thanks.

  • As far as I know there isn't anything special you have to do. You just need a USB CD-ROM drive and your favorite flavor of linux.

Note though that the unit is not expandable (you can't add expansion cards) so Asterisk will only work with SIP & VOIP equipment.
