ASG 110/120 rev. 2 RAM compatibility

Hi guys,

first things first, since this is my first post here: GREAT community and support here, I have literally been reading for hours. And until now I found an answer to every question I had.

I acquired a used Astaro ASG 110/120 rev. 2 and use it with a private license. So yes, I know a RAM upgrade will void the warranty, if there was any left.

The box came with 512MB installed and I tried to upgrade it to 1GB. Unfortunately, neither an Elixir 1GB nor a Kingston 1GB stick worked. It was just a constant *beeeep* when I tried to boot the ASG. So I went back to the 512MB which boots fine.

Is there any advice on which RAM sticks work?

I did actually check the specs before upgrading, since I did not want to waste money. The RAM that was installed is actually PC533 DDR2. The Kingston and Elixir both exceeded the specs, both 1.8V too. I already returned the Elixir, but the Kingston is still here so I took pictures of it and the original one. You will find them attached.

Still looking for someone who can point me at a specific module which worked on an ASG 120 rev. 2 appliance.
