Sophos UTM v.9.005016 GA

Angelo's Edit: We've made a small change between this release and the soft-release (which will be pushed anyways to those that installed the SR using our new incremental Up2Date system introduced in UTM9). The only change has been to fix a bug whereby systems with the command-line local content filter database enabled may have had their proxy enter a race condition until it was stopped/started once. This no longer happens. Other than that, enjoy the 9.005 release!

    Bruce, I´ve an hint. I rember I saw this problems prior to this 016-release sometimes but doesn´t matter because one of the servers was responsive.
    What has happened is that my provider shortended my line to 384K upstream (3 Mbit downtream), prior 5Mbit upstream,21 Downsteram. To much traffic. Could it be that the line is to small for cloud based content filtering? Are there networkrequirements for web filtering?

    At worst, it would just be slower; shouldn't stop working.

    BarryG A few of the schools I work with, if it's left with the cloud based content filter the delay in page drawing due to the latency of the lookup made it look like the filter was non functional...

    I think I found what happened. Bruce and Barry are right. No network issue. I updated my virtual appliance (difference is running 32bit) to 016. Hopefully it failed to work too, but it worked. So somethig during installation in production seemed too fail but i didn´t find any error in the logs.  It´s now doing only virusscan.
    Seems that I have to reinstall the box. If someone has an idea how to get back feel free to post.
    Sophos should include a undo option.

    One hint for you that came to mind; what kind of Internet service do you have?  Perhaps the MTU needs to be adjusted on the Internet-facing interface -- maybe an update to the kernel/NIC drivers is affecting you due to a misconfigured MTU or possibly a speed/duplex mismatch.  I've seen such things cause wierd issues before.

    I'll have a deeper look at the network. One additional is that I introduced due to my traffic Problem Policy based routing. May be it has effect too.

    No effect. Turned of the Policy Routes and restarted the service.
    Has the backupfile to have the same version like the boxß

    Yes, i plan it for today or tomorrow. One question: I found on the FTP-Server an image called "latest_asg_v9_software.iso" which version is ment? 015 or 016?
    If I make a fresh install, i can use images, where all uo2dates are included.

    So doe the filtering now take place in the cloud or still  a local filtering database for the UTM?
