Installation Issue

Ok here's a weird one,

I can install the latest v8 of astaro, i can install the 9.060-24.1 beta, but i cannot install any of the v9 production releases it just hangs on the first installation screen.

Does this not seem weird.

    Hi, does pressing ALT-F2 or ALT-F3 do anything when stuck at the install screen?

    What hardware are you using?

    ALT-F2 and ALT-F3/F4 are none responsive.

    The hardware is a dell optiplex gx620 sff.

    As i say both v8 and the v9 beta i can install but any v9 production releases just hang. I have tried numerous versions of v9 both cd and usb installation all to the same effect.

    To be honest as v8 works i might just go with that, and then v9.1 when it goes to production as that was the beta i was using.

    I have a gx620sff here that I've used as a temp fw (v8.x) while upgrading one of our HP's... I'll see if I can give it a try with 9.004

    Hi, turns out it's not the true SFF model, it's the next size up with the internal Power Supply.
    Anyways, it doesn't want to boot off my USB stick. Maybe I can try something else later.

    Just downloaded v9.004 and had a problem with it stopping mid-way through the install.  Turns out the .iso has a file in the /install/rpm folder with an incomplete file extension.  It's named "perl-Package-Deprecationmanager-0.11-1.359.g9a53fa.rb2.noarch.r"  It should be .rpm like all the other files.  I changed the name extension and it work perfectly.  Installed from a USB using "Universal-USB-Installer from penlinux.com.  I'm not sure why this is still in the new iso. It was an identified problem in an earlier post in mid 2012
