What kind of specs

Bob,

Thanks a lot for the reply! What kind of specs would my computer need if I have about 10 devices and I'm planning to implement the IDS/IPS (Snort) features of the UTM as well as the 2 AV engines (with the other features that I've mentioned)? Also, would a 7200RPM HD work or would I need an SSD? My ISP network connection is 50/25.

    I'm running on a similar connection with everything enable with a i3 and 4 gig of ram.

    Make sure you get intel NICs, good deals are on ebay.

    Do you think an Atom 2550 would be able to pull that load?

    ssd is NOT needed for all but the largest of installs..and even then an external syslog server would be better.  with what you are asking the machine to do core i3 is your minimum with 4 gigs of ram and the 64 bit install the absolute minimum.

    dunno what modules of the utm are you wanting to use other than the firewall?
