I am a new user (surprise, surprise) [:)]
Looking at Sophos UTM 9 as a partial replacement for my current Sonicwall UTM appliance. I want to insert Sophos in bridge mode behind my current firewall/DHCP server and have it function as a gateway virus checker, web filter, IPS etc.
I installed it on my own hardware with two built in NICs. I set up the external interface (eth1) as DHCP so it gets a IP on my existing LAN. The internal interface (eth0) I set up temporarily with the default 192.168.2.x. When I go to Interface & Routing > Bridging and try to set up a bridge I get an error. I select bridge all NICs and the only option under convert interface is internal. So I select that and hit create bridge and I get the error/warning "The ethernet standard object may not have an empty interface hardware attribute". It will not create the bridge.
I looked at the interfaces (both are green), but cant see anything obviously wrong. I have searched here but came up empty too.
Anyone have any ideas?
