Which up2dates to install manually after asg-9.003-16.1.iso?

Hello,
I downloaded "asg-9.003-16.1.iso" from ftp.astaro.de.
After installing that, I want to manually update to the newest firmware-version. When the newest version is installed, WebAdmin displays "Release 9.004-33" at the bottom. But on the ftp-server, I found the following up2date-files:

  • u2d-sys-9.003015.tgz.gpg
  • u2d-sys-9.003016.tgz.gpg
  • u2d-sys-9.003-9.004-15.33.1.tgz.gpg
  • u2d-sys-9.004029.tgz.gpg
  • u2d-sys-9.004-9.004-29.33.1.tgz.gpg

There's no "u2d....9.004-33...tgz.gpg" [:S]

I suppose I don't need "u2d-sys-9.003015.tgz.gpg" and "u2d-sys-9.003016.tgz.gpg", when I used "asg-9.003-16.1.iso" to install. But which of the other 3 up2date-files do I need to install and in which order? [:S]

Remark: I don't want to use the Up2Date-function in WebAdmin because I'm doing firmware-upgrades from ASG8 to UTM9 very late in the evening or on the weekends and I want to go home as soon as possible! [;)] So I don't want to wait until UTM has automatically downloaded the up2date-files. So I download them before the "upgrade-day" to speed up the upgrade process.

  • I've found that the last one: ftp://ftp.astaro.com/UTM/v9/up2date/u2d-sys-9.004-9.004-29.33.1.tgz.gpg

Will not install on any utm installations I tried it on (units running 9.004-29) ... the UTM says the file is not a valid up2date file.  Downloaded several times, etc. no change.  Ended up having to use the online update to get to 9.004-33.  Found this trying to setup a new HA cluster the other day.

Same here - was a bit tricky to get the second unit to 9.004-33. I thought i had a scrambled download of the u2d file...

  • The "longer" filenames contain additional info that maybe confusing if you don't know how to interpret it:

Take file 'u2d-sys-9.003-9.004-15.33.1.tgz.gpg' for example, it's the U2D *from* v9.003-15 *to* v9.004-33.1 which is the correct U2D for users that had the soft-release v9.003-15 installed and want to update to v9.004-33.1

Thanks for your information. That's a pretty sick naming-scheme if I may say so. IMHO, 'u2d-sys-9.003-15_9.004-33.1.tgz.gpg' would have been much more intelligible. (I'm just hoping to inspire someone from Sophos.... [who can change that])

    Ha!

If you want, you can wget/scp the files to /var/up2date/sys and then use auisys.plx --showdesc to get them to show up in WebAdmin Up2Date.
  • Hey peter, any idea why that up2date file I mention above won't install?  Maybe it's corrupt on the ftp server?
