Chance for Atheros WLAN on UTM 9?

Hi all,

I've just installed UTM 9 Home Edition and it seems pretty cool.... BUT: it doesn't detect my Atheros WLAN Card (Compex WLE200NX, Atheros 9280 Chipset).

Is there any chance to get this to work? Put the (which?) driver into a new ramdisk etc?

Would be a pitty to change the system immidiately because of this [:(]

    Hi cibomato,

    The UTM doesn't work with *any* wireless cards, PCI or USB. Even if you could get drivers compiled there is no way to mange the Wireless settings from within WebAdmin.

    If you want to offer wireless access through the ASG, the options are to attach a WiFi AP into the network and use that *or* to purchase the Wireless Security subscription (free for home use) and Astaro/Sophos Access Points.

    If you want the UTM to access a wireless network, you need to purchase a WiFi device that supports a "bridge mode" and hang the UTM off that

    thanks for your answer! Ok, I think, UTM wasn't built for such a scenario, but what a pitty! I'm coming from IPCop/IPFire which support internal WLAN AP and thought, Sophos could be a better alternative...
    Ok, I could buy an extra AP but since I searched for a good WLAN card for a long time, imported it from the US to Germany and wanted to have an all-in-one-box maybe I should search for other solutions (pfsense...?)
