Ok I m admitting defeat and asking for assistance. I currently have a sonicwall, I upgraded my internet speed to 105 megs and the sonicwall is unable to keep up with my speed. I turned everything off and I still cannot get more than 75 megs throughput.
While looking for a replacement, I came across astaro. Anyway, to make a long story short...
I have Astaro installed, my ISP is Comcast. If I place the sonicwall between my Modem and Astaro, things work. However, if I disconnect the sonicwall, power cycle cable modem and connect it to the Astaro UTM I cannot get an ip issued to Astaro. I am running astaro on Hyper-v on a windows 2012 server.
The weird part is that if I look in windows 2012, the nic card has a fresh ip from my isp, but when I look in Astaro web admin there is no IP issued from my modem, I try doing renew and nothing happens. I am drawing a blank and do not know what am I missing here.
To recap;
1- Astaro getting ip from Sonicwall works fine, I get internet on the network computers. So I guess this means the nic cards are configured correctly on Hyper V.
2- I power cycle modem to have it issue an ip to Astaro directly, the nic card gets an ip from the modem as I am able to surf the internet through the host computer, but when I go to webadmin Astaro reports that the nic card has no ip.
Based on my readings, usual culprits are non intel nic cards, I am using the two cards that came with the motherboard, but they get ip so I can rule out as being my problem.
The only thing I can think off is a setting, but not sure what I am missing.
Thanks
