PPPoE error after reconnect with UTM9

Hello,

I've encountered a serious problem with UTM9 running under VMware ESXi since upgrade to UTM9 (with latest ASG8 no problem).

After forced "un"-connect from the provider (german: "Zwangstrennung") of the PPPoE connection, the UTM9 is no longer able to reconnect: in the console you can only see:

astaro unregister_netdevice: waiting for ppp0 to become free. Usage count = 154

Deactivate and activate of the device does also not bring the PPPoE back online. Only solution so far: REBOOT?!???!  After reboot everything again works immediately until next "un"-connect by provider.

Seems(?) to be something similar to: https://community.sophos.com/products/unified-threat-management/astaroorg/f/95/t/66988

Has someone a solution for this or is this a bug in UTM9?

Regards,
Christian

  • Same problem here...

I recently upgraded a costumer to UTM9 on an ASG220...
Today all four DSL lines didn´t come up after the daily "Zwangstrennung"!

Is there any workaround as long as the 9.005 isn´t released?
    Should I open a ticket at my.astaro?

    Regards,
    Nils

My workaround is to stay with 9.002 and using the kernel from Index of mantis_22622
