Hardware reference guides?

Just received an ASG320 in unknown condition and missing hard drive. Looking for old hardware docs on Sophos' site is an exercise in futility. Heck, even getting documentation on NEW products is a bit of a joke...

Anyone have a link to or a pdf on the guts of the brown/orange ASG320? I can tell that the HD replacement will require PATA (which will be fun to source), but the additional sockets & features/limitations are a black box right now.

    Astaro sources the appliances from a hardware vendor, so perhaps that vendor had other options available for those slots. If they weren't populated when it was running, then you're not missing out on anything.

    IIRC, Astaro used to include some sort of IPS accelerator in the larger appliances, but I don't think the 320 was one of them.
    I don't know if recent versions of the Astaro software still support the accelerator.
    (many accelerators have been surpassed by modern CPUs)

    If it doesn't have a VGA connector, you'll have to add one. Search this site for 'vga cable'.

    The old 420 and up appliances had a NodalCore accelerator card in them... I think it was more costly, and more troublesome than it was worth... way back when they started shipping units without the card, they disabled it's use in software, so if you have an old box with one of these, it's basically just taking up space [:)]
