UTM 9.001 Soft-Released

I have been away for 2 weeks without a working internet, dead ipad. I was going to submit a post to the swap thread in the beta forum.
Basically my current configuration hardly swaps at all, I have changed the configuration and found that some setups seems to use swap. I changed the QOS on the VoIP and that dropped swap significantly.
At the start of v9 the swap was growing around 0.15% daily, at the end it ws growing 2% a day.
Changed IPS to one instance only, mainly memory usage.

Also I changed the memory type in the new box from A**** to Kingston 1.5v and that had a huge affect on swap usage. I did not change the software or re-install v9 just changed the memory.

FWIW, if you want to see the swap usage, it is still available under Reporting / Hardware.

seriously?  Thank goodness i don't use the dashboard to tell me how the system is doing.  Is this the "fix" for performance related swapping issues in v9?

Following the GA release of our UTM 9, we have a small follow-up Up2Date which addresses a few of the issues we couldn't quite quash in time, along with a few reported by our users. We will watch this thread until it is GA released for your feedback. Keep in mind we have lots we want to do in UTM 9 still: we have removed sleep and cut meal times in half down in the dungeons, and are adding more men to the oars as fast as we can! [;)]

Let's settle one question i have..is there going to be an up2date for v8 to v9 for software?  There's been for nearly every version i can remember.

V6-V7 only offered an upgrade option for appliances, as did v7-v8. 

Unless plans change, v8-v9 will also only allow upgrades for appliances.

Does anyone know why the automatic up2date doesn't come with the update from 9.000-8 to 9.001?
I sometimes check this part of the forum and I was surprised reading about this update... My UTM's don't mention anything about it... [:(]

Because this is a soft-release, so that early adopters can manually install and potentially report any issues that they find.  Once the soft-released period is over (usually a week), the up2date will be GAed and become available on the regular up2date servers.

UTM 9.001 has now been GA released and is pushing out. Enjoy!
