VMware ESXi install and setting initial IP address

I am installing Index of /UTM/v9/virtual_appliance/ for the first time and have utm_9.000_esx_v4_x64_smp-disk1.vmdk running on VMware ESXi. What is the easiest way to set the IP address? ifconfig from console or use laptop and set static IP to one on same subnet as initial IP of virtual machine and use webadmin https://192.168.0.1:4444?

  • use laptop and set static IP to one on same subnet as initial IP of virtual machine and use webadmin https://192.168.0.1:4444
This is the way to go, per the PDF readme included with the VM download.
