Small and energy eficient config for Home Use PC

Hello,

in my last job, i used to manage several Astaro boxes and i really got to love the product. I used my home license in virtual box as testbench. I'm now moving to a new house and have contracted FTTH. I'd love to use one PC as an Astaro box for my home use, but i know that my wife will reject anything big and/or noisy.

Do you know of any small and cheap barebone I could get my hands on for that use. I think that with a dual atom and 2 GB RAM i would be ok for the 100 Mbps traffic with some IPS. I remeber some time ago i saw a post about some small chassis on ebay with the mobo at a really cheap price.

    Yes, i'll be using IPS and HTTP AV filtering but no mail filtering for the moment. 
    After reading some of your answers I looked a little more and found a HP Microserver with AMD NL-40 processor. Seems a little and well made home server, small, energetically efficient and with some room for HDDs. It's price, under 200€ it's really attractive (maybe around 300 with 4 GB RAM and a 500 GB HDD and an extra ethernet) and it maybe suit me. I am planning on using it with ESXi and create a Astaro VM, a small file server and I hope it'll leave me with some spare CPU room for some VMs for my studies and geek uses (CCNP studies, trying linux distros,..). Anyone tried it?

    Do you know of any other good option? Do you think you could have a small barebone cheaper: i'd love to have a small q6600 box.
