Configure ASG 110/120 for PPPOA

Hi all. Although this is my first post I have been using Astaro for many years. I currently have an ASG110/120 unit with V7.5 and its external interface used to be connected to a bonded DSL router which in turn had 3 dsl speedtouch modems hanging of it. Along with this the ISP provided 5 public IP's. The Astaro was provided with one and the others were used for various front facing servers behind the firewall.

The company closed recently and a new buyer has purchased the assets and I have been asked to get IT systems back up and running albeit on a much simpler scale. I will not be going for the bonded dsl solution again and have simply opted for a business broadband deal from BT with a static IP as I plan to have the astaro handling incoming mail again and then passing to my Groupwise server.

I have my broadband live now and have tested it with the standard BT router and all is well so I now come to the point were I want to connect the broadband to the astaro. I still have the speedtouch modems which were used for the bonded router so i thought of just using one of them and connecting it to eth2 and changing the interface type from its current 'ethernet standard' to 'DSL (PPOA / PPTP). It is this part that I am getting confused with as my overall IP knowledge is limited. I am required to enter a modem ip as well as an NIC address and netmask. On reading the admin guide it states the NIC address must be in the same subnet as the modem. If I only have one public static IP from BT, is it possible to carry out this setup or do I need two IP's (one for the modem and one for the astaro?). Another option I presume is to use the current BT Broadband router and disable the firewall on that and somehow configure it to pass traffice to the astaro. I could then keep the interface as 'ethernet standard'??

I presume I could use NAT forwarding in the astaro to forward different types of traffic to different internal IP assigned servers.

    Ok, so looking further into the dsl modem option it appears they are more intelligent than I first thought!! Guess I need to login and set the modem to bridge mode and then set the asg interface to pppoa. I do have the option of putting the BT dsl router into bridge mode and it states that my doing this it would disable routing, nat and dhcp which is fine. It also states that it would reset the local ip address to 192.168.1.254/255.255.255.0. Could I just do that then use pppoa on the asg interface?
