11 Mbit connect drops to 5mbit behind Astaro

So I've been getting an install of Astaro up and running and have been tweaking various settings. Today I ran a speed test behind Astaro and was surprised at how drastic the speed of my internet connection was reduced. Prior to installing, when running a speed test at speakeasy.net/speedtest, I was getting speeds over 11Mbit / sec. Earlier today when I tested it, the best speed I could get was 4.8Mbit / sec.

I am running Astaro from a Virtual Machine (VMWare ESXi); however, it has over 50% free ram and when running the speed test was only using 2-3% cpu. 

Is this typical for Astaro? Or did I do something wrong while installing / configuring?

    I have the same speed drop using the v8.304  AST120 and 220 units. Have not tested on a 320 yet.
    I found this:
    Anti-virus scanning set to 1meg file. This will give you some increase in speed but not full.
    Web filtering OFF and you get 100% of your speed back.  Web filter ON and your clipped about 25% of your real bandwidth.
    Ping times are around 200-250ms vs my true pings without AST being around 15-50ms.

    I manage over 15 AST units in 15offices and in some cases the users complained so much I had to disable the Web filtering.
    Im awaiting the net major release and HOPE they have fixed this issue.
