Extremely slow ping and slower speed through Astaro

Can someone please help me with this, I have noticed that I seem to get extremely slow ping results when pinging though the Astaro. I tend to get 367ms through the Astaro and around 47ms without going through it. Any ideas why this is happening ?

The download speed seems to be slower as well through the Astaro.

Any help appreciated.

    not necessarily..what are the nics on the mobo..also you have to go into the bios and make sure ALL virtualization options are on(sometimes they aren't).  also if you aren't running ecc memory you can have issues.  It is most assuredly a config/hardware issue....Astaro runs very well under vmware and nicely under hyper-v..but i only run hypervisors on xeon/opterons never a desktop chip/system.
