Migration path from Web Gateway Vers7 to Web Security

We're looking to move from our current software appliance (Vers 7.511) to the new software appliance Web Security (version 8?).
Does anyone know of any migration path that would allow us to do this?

Thanks in advance,
Paul

  • exactly.  do a backup before each update series..as i mentioned earlier..you'll have to do it in stages.  also for v8+ make sure you have at least 1 gig of ram..you'll really do better with 2 gigs.

  • Thanks again for the help with this.

You've put my mind at rest on the upgrade front.

  • It appears I misread the OP's original post -- I thought he was talking about upgrading the old Web Gateway product, not a UTM with Web Security enabled.  Carry on [:)]

  • We've installed the software and also applied the new licence file, but we're now stuck as every time we try to restore the backup config it tells us our licence has expired and we need to apply the new one.
    Steps taken below:

    • We apply the new licence
    • Log back in and restore last config
    • Log back in and see the licence has expired, so we apply the new one again.
    • Log back in and see we're back to the step 2 of the wizard which is the restore previous backup.
    • Continuous loop until we breakdown!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
  • We've managed to get past the issue - cancelled the wizard!
Also, the config was indeed restored and we're back online.

Cheers for all of the help!
    Paul
