Anyone try installing on an watchguard firebox?

I have an older watchguard laying around and thought I would see if I could get it to work.

I know its possible to install pfSense on it. They installed it on another machine and then took the HD to the watchguard.

I wasn't sure if Astaro would work like that since it would have to find the new hardware.

Thoughts?

    If it has USB and VGA, a local install should be possible.

    It depends on the watchguard model. A few years ago i had to install a vga card (only for installation) and change the compact flash card into a hard drive.
    I remember there was a confusing numbering of the ethernet ports after installation.

    But it looks very nice after get the lcd display working. (I'm still searching for the photo ...)

    I am keen on finding an inexpensive appliance on Ebay if possible because apparently PfSense can easily run on such boxes.. Any such appliance boxes that could support/ work with Sophos UTM?

    Also, I found some older astaro stuff on ebay.. Can they be updated to latest Sophos UTM? If not the paid then Free version for home use?

    Keep in mind, those units (the Watchguard's, I'm absolutely certain, older Astaro...more than likely) are very restricted in the amount of memory they have and Sophos UTM eats a lot of memory.  "Maybe" if all you are using is NAT, firewall...but then, why not just PFsense instead.
